So much has gone on since Christmas, and so little has been documented here.
And if you’re looking for a handy dandy summary, sorry. I ain’t got time. So here’s the quick and dirty before I head off to work at my office for the first time in 3+ weeks. (Don’t worry…I’ve been working my tail off. It’s just been in China.) Speaking of which…
- China. Overwhelming. Crazay-ass drivers. Better food this time around than in August. My trip schedule? Beijing-Tianjin-Beijing-Tianjin-Nanjing-Wenzhou-Shenzhen-Guangzhou-Harbin-Songyuan-Changchun-Beijing. And those four first stops took place over the span of the first 12 days. Shenzhen to Beijing comprised the last 7 days, and we stayed at two separate hotels in Harbin, so in effect, it was a separate hotel every day for the last week. Good times across the board, though, and a great trip. I’m wanted there, most definitely.
- Aftermath. Jet lag is expected. I’m still waking up at 4 am, though for less and less time each time. My cold a day before I left China wasn’t expected. And the most unexpected part? To try and treat it a few days ago, I began a baking soda protocol that has served me well in the past. This time, it convoluted my illness dramatically. As my lung and sinus congestion improved, suddenly my guts went to hell, and I nearly collapsed within 8 hours from dehydration. It was like food poisoning, except I couldn’t point my finger at any food as the culprit. So…baking soda caused this? How in the world? At any rate, I remembered how well kefir, and especially whey, helped me feel during an illness last time, so I had no more than a tablespoon of it last night, in divided doses. Damn, but that stuff is a lifesaver. At the end of the day, I’m down 12 pounds from when I left for China in the first place. Yipes.
I guess that’s it, really, for now. Off to work, and I hope all goes well from here forward. Operation Hydrate: on!
